The K Factor

My family challenged me to enter the Harry Hill K Factor knitting competition.

So I decided to knit a Harry-Hill-look-a-like balaclava. Here it is:

Unicorn

My sister asked me if I could knit a unicorn for my little niece Marie for Christmas.

I had the pattern for the donkey from the nativity set (see previous post), and managed to convert it to turn into this unicorn:

Nativity

After a long time of not writing in my blog, here is an update on what I spent six months last year knitting: two nativity sets (following the Sirdar patter by Alan Dart) for two friends at church.

The characters were quite fiddly and took a long time to knit, but it was also a great joy to create them with my own hands!

Here are some pictures of one of the sets (taken on a sunny summer's day in our garden):

Gillian's cupcake

Gillian, a friend from church, asked me to knit her some cupcakes.
After searching for some patterns on the internet I finally decided to design my own pattern.

Here is what I made so far.

Preparing for Easter

This year I am knitting Easter items for charity.
Here is a whole batch of freshly hatched chickens, rabbits and ducklings:

These little toys stand 7"/18cm tall (including ears).
I first made them as little gnomes when my nephews were little. This year I have decided to turn them into rabbits.
Here is just one of them. (More may follow ...)

Snow, snow, snow!

Snow is something we don't often get ... and this week we have been blessed with more than we know what to do with!
The school was closed for most of the week - much to the children's excitement.

Now then ... who's for a snowball fight??

It's been a while ...

I can't believe it's been 4 months since I last wrote on my blog!

I have spent the Christmas break using up some of my wool stash by making stripey jumpers for toddlers. They are knitted from sleeve to sleeve, creating vertical stripes.

I have found two new knitting charities for my jumpers:

Algerian Action
and
Project Peru
