DK means double knit. It's a yarn weight similar to Sport weight

i really like this pattern. i have little need for bonnets and mittens in a tropical country (Venezuela) but a favorite niece has moved to Buenos Aires with her tiny baby and it is getting cold there! so Great-aunt Carol will knit several of these for her baby Victoria Sofia. thanks for the pattern and God bless you. you sound like a wonderful family.

Thank you for this pattern! I am a brand new knitter, and I'm not ready to try the dpns yet. This pattern is easy to read, easy to remember, and I have already finished two pairs!

Is this pattern worked in the round? If not do I need to do anything differently to work them in the round?

I do not understand this pattern. So I knit on straight needles not in the round correct? And then I seam the back and front together?

madhat said...

Yes, that's correct. It's knitted flat with knit and purl rows, then the seam on one side is closed.

Great pattern! Have you tried making larger sizes? I want to make for an 18 month old but not sure how to make for that size.
