Slowing down

Over the last week or two I have had trouble with my wrist, leading to weakness and shooting pain in my thumb.
As a result I haven't been able to spend much time at the computer or do any knitting or crocheting.

At the same time my right knee has been playing up, so I will have to give running a rest for a bit too.

It seems like I cannot do the things I most enjoy.
It's as if somebody is telling me to slow down and look around me! So I am trying to be a bit philosophical about it, and make the most of my enforced slowing down period.

Still, it does feel strange ...
Any ideas how I could be spending my time?

I don't know if you have to slow down. My fiance had a similar issue, and we just got her a low profile knee brace to use while running, and really helped her out. The website is :

We have a ton of braces, one of which I am sure will help you.

sorry to hear about your problems, nutty ... my ME sometimes stops me from knitting, and it does feel funny not working on something!

that's why I branched out into other crafts, really

do agree, though, that sometimes the body tells us quite firmly its time to give things a rest for a bit.

maybe try some meditation or yoga? can help you feel very centred and relaxed, especially if you're feeling frustrated about not being to do the things you love

when I am forced to stop for a bit, I listen to a LOT of radio 4 and I save up magazines and I go through cutting out nice pictures or recipes or interesting articles and things.

when you go back to things, you may find the break has given you fresh inspiration!

ps. its supposed to be warm on Sunday .. hope you get chance to sit out in the sunshine and talk to your veggies??!!

Thank you, Dan. I haven't tried running yet, but I have looked up on stretching and warming up.
Thanks for the website. :o)

Hedgewitch, I am a lot better again.
I wonder if this was a hormonal thing, and if all my joints where just a little looser than normally?

Anyway, I quite enjoyed the break ... :o)
